Preparatory course – language and specialized training
At the National Academy of Music, language and specialized training is conducted FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS in a preparatory course in which the following are studied within one academic year:
- For the Faculty of Theory, Composition and Conducting: Bulgarian language, Solfege and theory of musical elements, Piano
- For Instrumental Faculty: Bulgarian language, Solfege and theory of musical elements, and a special subject – Piano, Violin, Classical Guitar, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion
- For Vocal Faculty: Bulgarian language, Solfege and theory of musical elements, and a special subject – Classical singing, Acting, Pop and jazz singing and Acting skills or a type of instrument, Vocal methodology /for Doctoral candidates/
The preparatory course ends with exams in all subjects studied, exams in Bulgarian language are written and oral:
- for the Bachelor’s degree and for the Master’s degree, the minimum passing grade for each of the exams is a Good 4.00 /C/, including for each of the exams in the Bulgarian language – written and oral.
- For the Doctoral degree, the minimum passing grade for each of the exams is Very good 4.50 /B/, including for each of the Bulgarian language exams – written and oral.
Annual fee – EUR 4000
- Documents for admission to a preparatory course are submitted from 01 to 20 September in the year of application – for candidates for the Bachelor degree
- Documents for admission to a preparatory course are submitted from 01 to 03 September in the year of application – for candidates for the Master degree
- Documents for admission to a preparatory course are submitted from 01 to 30 September in the year of application – for candidates for Doctoral degree
1. Application for admission to a preparatory course:
– Application form for admission to a preparatory course after Secondary education;
– Application form for admission to a preparatory course after Higher education.
2. A copy of the document for completed Secondary education and of the appendix with the grades /grade in music/ or a copy of the document for Higher education – for the educational qualification degree of Bachelor or Master, the appendix with the grades and an transcript of Records. Applicants with Higher education must have passed the procedure for recognition of Higher education , acquired in a foreign country;
3. A document issued by a competent authority certifying the applicant’s right to continue his studies in the higher education institutions of the country in which the secondary education was obtained – for first-year applicants;
4. Certificate issued by the Regional Department of Education – Sofia /17 Antim I” Str./, for recognized Secondary education acquired in a foreign country, for first-year applicants;
5. A medical certificate issued within one month before the date of application and certified by the relevant authorities in the country from which the person is applying – only for Doctoral candidates;
6. Four photos.
The documents under points 2, 3 and 5 must be legalized, translated and certified in accordance with the provisions of the international agreements of the Republic of Bulgaria with the country in which they were issued, and in the absence of such – according to the general procedure for legalizations, translations and certifications of documents. Documents must be in one copy with original certificates and two copies. All documents must be scanned in color and uploaded to disk or flash memory. Each document is a single file. Filename is the name of the document. Scanned files must be in PDF, only the photo in JPEG. In addition to paper documents, scanned ones on CD or flash memory are also submitted.
