Study period: 4 academic years, full-time study.
A Bachelor’s degree requires 240 credits (60 for each year of full-time study). They are recruited from compulsory (70%), elective (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.
At the decision of the department in which the student studies his special subject, he may be awarded up to 10 additional credits for the period of study for bright and prestigious artistic performances, participation in international festivals, awards from national and international competitions.
-compulsory: sound engineering – introduction, sound engineering and sound design, sound engineering, analog editing, audio post-production, auditory training, psychoacoustics, MIDI, sound synthesis, musical acoustics, recording practice, media practice (radio), media practice (television), sound and sound systems, solfege, harmony, history of music, musical folklore, piano, instrumental knowledge, pedagogy, piano choir conducting, polyphony, musical analysis, history of Bulgarian music;
-electives: sound theory, general computer literacy, music and media management, basic elements and systems in sound engineering, film and video – introduction, choral studies, philosophy, foreign language, course choir, symphonic orchestration, conducting piano choir, reading scores, composition, organ, musical aesthetics, musical psychology;
– optional: foreign language I and II, sport, history of art, pedagogical psychology, history of jazz.
Method of graduation: state exam or thesis defense.
Opportunities for professional realization:
-to direct the sound material during musical performances and interpret musical-artistic communication processes by means of sound technical management; to train staff in the field of sound engineering; to conduct research work in the field of music direction and sound technology;
– to conduct and implement music recordings, broadcasts, montage and layouts.
