Period of training:
– 1 year for graduates of the Bachelor’s degree in sound engineering, full-time study.
– 2 years for graduates of a Bachelor’s degree in another specialty, full-time study
60 credits required for each year.
At the decision of the department in which the student studies his special subject, he may be awarded an additional 2 credits per year for independent and prestigious professional performances.
Admission: The conditions for admission to the specialty are published in the Master’s candidate directories for the relevant academic year, available on the NMA website.
One year training – Disciplines studied:
– compulsory: Sound Direction, Sound Design for Games, Audio Post-Production, Master’s Thesis Work;
–electives: Sound Production, Television Production, Composition, Fundamentals of Programming, Media Composition;
– optional: History of Art, Foreign Language I and II, Sport.
Two years of training – Disciplines studied:
– compulsory: Sound Direction, Audio Post-Production, Sound Recording Practice, Sound Engineering, MIDI and Sound Synthesis, Solfege, Harmony Instrumentation, Orchestration;
– electives: Fundamentals of programming, Composition, Media composition, Musical acoustics, Piano, Psychoacoustics, Sound and sound systems;
– optional: Foreign language I and II, Sport.
Method of graduation: Practical project and Master’s thesis defense.
Learning objective:
Students should develop music-theoretical and technical competence in the field of sound engineering and sound design for games, prepare to work with sound software and specialized programs for the implementation of sound design for games, as well as software products for the integration of video and sound for games. Given the latest trends in sound design for games, basing the learning in a classical music environment supports the learning process and the acquisition of music technology knowledge and sound skills.
The learning process takes place in a specialized and equipped environment for this purpose. Practical and lecture assignments are well balanced. Seminar classes and lectures by external specialists are regularly organized.
The dynamic development of the game industry increases the demand for qualified personnel, especially in the field of sound work. Sound designers can develop their skills in various directions – creating music for games, sound effects design, mixing and mastering, implementing sound in the game.
