Duration of study: 5 academic years, full-time study
300 credits required (60 for each year of full-time study). They are recruited from compulsory (70%), optional (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.
At the discretion of the department in which the student is studying his special subject, he may be awarded up to 10 additional credits for the period of study for outstanding performances in the field of musical art and science.

– compulsory: special subject, solfege, harmony, history of music, musical folklore, piano, foreign language, philosophy, instrumental science, polyphony, symphonic orchestration, score reading, introduction to musicology, scientific information in musicology, music analysis, music aesthetics, music theory systems, history of Bulgarian music, old Bulgarian music, music criticism, musicology practice;
– electives: pedagogy, choir conducting from score, course choir, choral studies, music psychology, vocal training and choral difficulties, brass orchestration, pedagogical psychology, composition, organ, musical acoustics, music management, church music, piano teaching methodology, history of jazz, piano II, opera dramaturgy, choral repertoire and literature, musical philosophy;
– optional: intellectual property and copyright, introduction to specialized music software, foreign language I and II, sports, history of art.
