MUSIC AND STAGE DIRECTION

Duration of study:

– 1 academic year, full-time study, for bachelors main subjecting in “Musical and Performing Arts”;

– 2 academic years, full-time study, for bachelors with other main subjects.

To obtain a Master’s degree, 60 credits are required for each academic year. They are recruited from compulsory (70%), optional (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.

At the decision of the department in which the student studies his special subject, he may be awarded an additional 2 credits per year for bright and prestigious artistic performances.

Admission: The conditions for admission to the specialty are published in the Master’s candidate directories for the relevant academic year, available on the NMA website.

Disciplines studied:

– compulsory: musical and stage direction, effective score analysis, teamwork – conductor, teamwork – scenographer, concept (idea – realization), educational musical theater;

– electives: fencing, make-up, history of art, writing musical scores, musical aesthetics;

– optional: Italian language, German language, English language, French language, Russian language, implementation of research projects, vocal methodology, sports, sports dances.

Method of graduation:

– production of a performance (or fragments) of an opera, operetta or musical in the Educational Music Theater or on another stage- Master’s thesis defense.

Opportunities for professional realization:

– professional qualification “director”;

– directors in musical or dramatic theaters;

– to stage operas, operettas or musicals;

-to teach the specialty in music educational institutions;

– to teach the specialty in Higher schools;

– experts in the system of education, science and arts;

– to be realized as a freelancer.
