CHOIR CONDUCTING

Duration of study: 5 academic years, full-time study

300 credits required (60 for each year of full-time study). They are recruited from compulsory (70%), optional (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.

At the discretion of the department in which the student is studying his special subject, he may be awarded up to 10 additional credits for the period of study for outstanding performances in the field of musical art and science.

– compulsory: choir conducting from score, school choir conducting, orchestra conducting from score, orchestra conducting, solfege, harmony, history of music, musical folklore, piano, instrumental knowledge, course choir, choral studies, vocal preparation and choral difficulties, foreign language, polyphony, symphonic orchestration, reading scores, musical analysis, musical aesthetics, old Bulgarian music, history of Bulgarian music, choral conducting training methodology, stylistics and conducting interpretation;

– electives: pedagogy, philosophy, music psychology, pedagogical psychology, brass orchestration, composition, organ, choral repertoire and literature, critical analysis of concert performance, musical acoustics, music management, church music, piano teaching methodology, jazz history, improvisation , piano II, opera dramaturgy, ethics, musical philosophy;
