Study period: 5 academic years, part-time study
A Bachelor’s degree requires 240 credits. They are recruited from compulsory, elective and optional disciplines.
At the decision of the Department of Music and Performing Arts, the student may be awarded up to 10 additional credits for the period of study for bright and prestigious performances – concerts or awards from national and international competitions, etc.
Disciplines studied:
– compulsory: classical dance teaching methodology, composition and analysis of movement, historical dances, characteristic dances, anatomy in ballet, theory of musical elements, child psychology, modern techniques, repertoire, musical analysis, pedagogy, history of Bulgarian ballet, music and dance aesthetics, pedagogical practice, history of ballet;
– electives: history of music, history of art, history of modern ballet, basics of directing, stylistics, musical dramaturgy, stage history of ballet masterpieces, ethics, music therapy, philosophy of music, dance training for children;
– optional: work with computer programs, 1st foreign language, 2nd foreign language, sports.
Method of graduation: state exam
Job opportunities:
– to teach in specialized secondary ballet schools; teach in higher education institutions with the direction of “Music and Dance Art”; train ballet staff; lead the dance life organizationally and methodically; conduct research work in the field of ballet pedagogy and methodology of dance-theoretical disciplines; lead ballet ensembles; lead and teach in all ballet schools.
