Study period: 1 academic year, full-time study
60 credits are required to obtain a Master’s degree. They are recruited from compulsory (70%), optional (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.
At the decision of the Department of Music and Performing Arts, the student may be awarded up to 10 additional credits for the period of study for bright and prestigious performances – concerts or awards from national and international competitions, etc.
Disciplines studied:
– compulsory:
Methodology of teaching classical dance, Methodology of teaching classical ballet. Methodical composition. Classical repertoire. Historical dances, Modern dance techniques. Methodology and composition of the characteristic dance. Bulgarian dances. A dramatic analysis of the ballet score
– elective:
Fundamentals of stage movement. Work with a tutor. UMSI. Implementation of the research projects. Aesthetics. Semiotics. Work of the teacher with different age groups. Genres in ballet theater. Choreographic reading. Performing Arts Management
– optional:
Work with computer programs, 1st foreign language, 2nd foreign language, sports, music analysis, teaching children up to 7 years old
Method of graduation:
State examination on a professional ballet class, Master’s thesis.

-to teach in Higher schools with the direction of “Music and Dance Art” and train ballet staff;
-to teach in specialized secondary ballet schools the disciplines studied here;
-to lead the organizational-methodical dance life in a ballet school or troupe;
-to conduct scientific research work in the field of ballet pedagogy and methodology of dance-theoretical disciplines;
-to lead ballet ensembles;
-to lead and teach in all ballet and dance schools.

– schools in which choreographic disciplines are represented – classical dances, classical dance teaching methods, historical dances, characteristic dances, modern ballet and jazz ballet; history of ballet, classical dance composition, repertoire, dance and stage movement;
