Duration of study:
– 1 academic year, full-time study, for students with a Bachelor’s degree main subjecting in instrumental art – type of instrument;
– 2 academic years, full-time study, for students with a Bachelor’s degree with another main subject.
To obtain a Master’s degree, 60 credits are required for each academic year. They are recruited from compulsory (70%), optional (20%) and optional (10%) disciplines.
Admission: The conditions for admission to the specialty are published in the Master’s candidate directories for the relevant academic year, available on the NAM website.
Disciplines studied:
–compulsory: piano teaching methodology, pedagogical practice, piano, chamber music, pedagogy;
– electives: history of the instrument, history of art, instrumental science, music psychology, pedagogical psychology, philosophy of music, music management, music aesthetics, composition, historical dances, organ, harpsichord, music therapy, school choir, choral studies, history of Bulgarian music , implementation of research projects;
–optional: foreign language, philosophy, sports.
Method of graduation: state exam and Master’s thesis defense.
Opportunities for professional realization:
– to perform as soloists, chamber musicians, accompanists, members of various orchestra formations;
– to train personnel in the field of Piano and chamber music in Higher education institutions, secondary schools, music school for children, music high schools etc.;
– to conduct research work in the field of instrumental and performing arts;
– lead various instrumental amateur and professional ensembles;
– to perform all types of activities requiring a Higher musical education
