Period of study – 5 academic years, full-time training
Required 300 credits (60 for each year of full-time training). The credits are accumulated from compulsory (70%), elective (20%) and facultative (10%) courses.
Upon the decision of the department, where the student studies his or her special subject (Solfeggio, Counterpoint, Polyphony, Musical analysis, Orchestration, Musical folklore, Philosophy of music), he or she may be awarded up to 10 credits during the period of study for outstanding performances in the field of music art and science.

– Compulsory: Special subject, Introduction to Theory of Music, Pedagogy, Philosophy, Organology, Musical folklore, Solfeggio, Conducting a choir from a piano score, Foreign language, Counterpoint, History of music, Piano Course Choir, Choral studies, Psychology, Reading of scores, Polyphony, Musical analysis, Music theoretical systems, History of the Bulgarian music, Aesthetics of Music, Information and Communication technologies and working in digital environment, Old Bulgarian music
– Music electives:
– Musical acoustics, Introduction to Musicology, Vocal training and choir difficulties, History of Art, Composition, Organ, Symphonic Orchestration, Spectrum of musical impact, Methodology of Teaching Piano, Church music, Theory of compositional techniques in the Second Half of the 20th Century, History of Jazz, Music Arts Management, Improvisation, Аproach and realization of research project, Philosophy of music, Latin language and Musica, Ancient music lyrics
– Facultative: Foreign Language, Sports, Introduction to the music software, Second Foreign Language, Intellectual property and copyright
– Optional module for acquiring professional qualification for Teacher:
a) Compulsory courses: Sitting in on classes, Methodology of Teaching Music, Current pedagogical practice, Methodology of Teaching in the Kindergarten, Methodology of Teaching Music in the school period (up to 10 years of age), Internship practice, Inclusive education, Perception and Impact of Music, Methodology of Teaching Music in the school period (up to 14 years of age), Educational psychology
b) Elective courses: Ethics, Educational and Teaching techniques, Music Didactics and Music teaching material, The music as factor in the inclusive education, The Music education and the Lifelong Learning initiative, Philosophy and psychology of performance, Pedagogy, Leisure time and the Music factor, Music linguistics and Music pedagogy.
Graduation: Master’s Thesis Defense. State Examination in addition for the students who have selected the module for acquiring the qualification for Teacher.
